Getting unstuck (and other revolutions) as July crescendos toward the collision of Mars, Uranus, and North Node in Taurus
A forecast for the upcoming triple conjunction and a guide to understanding how you express the sign of Taurus in your life.
On July 5th, 2022… many meters deep beneath the French-Swiss border… the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s most powerful particle accelerator, began once again to propel tiny particles toward intense head-on collisions after a 3-year hiatus from atom smashing.
Scientists at CERN (i.e., the European Organization for Nuclear Research), which operates the LHC within the largest particle physics laboratory in the world, study miniscule particles as they race around the 27 km underground tunnel at very high speeds until they collide. These scientists are interested in the effects of these high speed crashes and what the outcomes of this smashing and colliding can tell them about the nature of the universe; space, time and the fabric of reality.
The other thing that happened on July 5th, 2022, was that Mars entered Taurus - joining Uranus and the North Node in this sign.
I’ve spoken before about how the ingress of a planet into a new sign may immediately correlate with an event that seems to symbolically announce the nature of this new energetic combination.
On May 29th, for example, Venus entered Taurus and I interpreted the cake-and-roses-climate-change-activist-encounter with the Mona Lisa painting in Paris to be symbolically announcing this ingress. The moment was expressive of Venus co-present with Uranus in Taurus.
The timing of the LHC restarting within hours of Mars entering Taurus while I read martial words like “colliding” and “smashing” in headlines about the event, prompted me to look at this through an astro lens.
At first glance this event seems light-years away from the down-to-earth grounded basics of Taurus’ domain, but Taurus is host to Uranus right now and Uranus is the most futuristic and high-tech planetary archetype in our solar system (it also correlates with life experiences that move very fast).
The North Node, currently in Taurus, is hungry for new discoveries and pulls us toward uncharted territory.
And Mars likes to smash things.
We could locate Taurus in this LHC context in the search for the underlying mechanisms that has made life on earth possible. However, I think the correlations emerge more clearly when seen through the light of the Taurus-Scorpio axis - especially given that the nodal axis is transiting this polarity, thus activating both signs simultaneously via the North and South lunar nodes.
When I was preparing to write this post I had a sense of deja-vu. Had I written about these types of scientific experiments before?
I realized that yes indeed, I wrote about atom-smashing in April 2018 for a post that used particle accelerators as a metaphor for Scorpio and a Mars-Pluto conjunction that was occurring at the time.
Taurus is what we see on the surface (this beautiful physical Earth) and Scorpio is the deep mystery beneath the surface that makes regenerative life on Earth possible - and it also reminds us of how vulnerable we are.
The LHC experiments certainly have an obvious Scorpionic theme; a South Node in Scorpio vibe in particular.
“What is dark matter and dark energy?” - this is one of the questions the Large Hadron Collider is designed to explore.
There are many people worried about the potential risks of these experiments and the nature of the LHC obviously provides fertile ground for many conspiracy theories to take root. Space.com reports:
“People have also worried that the LHC might produce a "mini black hole," but even if this happened — which is unlikely — it would be unbelievably tiny, and so unstable that it would vanish within a fraction of a second according to the safety report.”
I should hope it would be unlikely. The intense gravity and density of a black hole can change space and time and rip stars apart. I must say though, the concept of a black hole is an absolutely perfect metaphor for the South Node in Scorpio (a place of elimination, release), which looks like a literal hole that one might fall into…
That which is unfortunate enough to be eaten by a black hole must endure what astrophysicists call “spaghettification.”
Sounds like a Scorpionic good time.
So anyways, it seems to me that particles embarking on a head-on collision crash course in a deep underground tunnel in service to questions about dark matter and the fabric of reality, is how Mars got the party started with Uranus and the North Node in Taurus on July 5th, 2022.
However, this was also only a prelude, a heralding, a hint for the much anticipated Mars-Uranus-North Node triple conjunction that will peak in a week’s time on July 31st and August 1st, 2022.
🐮⚡The Mars-Uranus-North Node triple conjunction in Taurus on July 31st/Aug. 1st
It is always so interesting when the Universe orchestrates multiple transits to occur simultaneously in ways that reinforce a theme. Mars conjunct Uranus is a big deal, Uranus conjunct the North Node is a big deal, and the North Node conjunct Mars is a big deal. But what happens when all three come together at once?
It has certainly caught the attention of many astrologers that Mars + Uranus + the North Node will collide together at 18° Taurus within the space of 28 hours (while opposing the South Node in Scorpio). This cosmic collision will have ripples spreading out into the week or two before and after they perfect.
I’m not saying that the Large Hadron Collider will create a black hole at this time (although, I dunno, maybe!), but the LHC’s re-launch does offer a rich symbolic story from which to draw from when looking ahead to July 31st/Aug. 1st.
There’s something that has been building momentum since Mars entered Taurus on July 5th. There may be a sense of increasing restlessness and agitation. Perhaps a feeling of urgency, perhaps a deadline that must be met next week. There could be growing appetite, a ravenous hunger for something deeply desired that is perceived to be just out of reach.
Personally, this applying transit currently feels like the 8 of Wands with the 2 of Pentacles for me.
The 8 of Wands represents the many projects demanding my attention all at once, propelled by time-sensitive urgency. I see myself in the 2 of Pentacles, which mirrors my efforts to try and stay balanced and grounded as I shift focus between tasks while keeping all the balls in the air at once amid a changing environmental context.
Maybe this is what it feels like for you too?
As this triple conjunction peaks on July 31st/Aug. 1st, Mars wants you to be direct, assertive, determined, courageous, and ready to protect and defend what you value. Like protons hurtling toward each other in an underground tunnel, you may need to face something directly in order to get the outcomes you desire.
As the energy of this trio combines, the Moon’s North Node wants you to bravely cross into uncharted frontiers. The North Node, or Rahu, the Dragon’s head, is a hungry point in the sky. It’s a powerful magnet calling you forth toward new discoveries - what are you capable of in this beautiful incarnate life?
As Mars and the North Node dance with Uranus it is possible we may encounter a futuristic high-tech plot twist that resonates with the LHC trajectory, or we could be propelled into an unusual and unexpected situation where we need to respond spontaneously in the moment. Uranus is the invitation to be free, to be you, and to do the weird thing, the risky thing, that catalyzes a series of events you could never have planned nor anticipated.
The opposition to the South Node in Scorpio reminds us that North Node gains are only possible when we release the congestion blocking the flow. It reminds us that moving toward new goals and ambitions must be done mindfully, with a willingness to process the dark matter from the past that may undermine our future.
We also need to consider that this conjunction is occurring in the sign of Taurus (fixed earth). Globally and personally, this will bring major attention to narratives that involve…
food innovation, food (in)security, climate change, earthquakes or volcanos, controversy over “green policies”, nature and different perspectives on what is “natural”, farming, fertilizer, cows, DNA and identifying biometrics, bodily autonomy, body modification, biotechnology, human augmentation, transhumanism, cyborgs and bionic humans, money, crypto, business, debts, loans, investments, mortgages, property issues, and tensions regarding ownership rights.
It must be said that this combination of energies (Mars, Uranus, NN) is certainly disruptive and erratic. This combination can be volatile and reactive with the potential to correlate with sudden accidents, injuries, and violence.
This combination is also one to rebel against the status quo. For example, when Mars first entered Taurus we witnessed the farmer’s protest in the Netherlands heat up (e.g., “no farmers, no food” is one of their slogans) and Sri Lanka dramatically overthrew its government in reaction to economic failure linked to farming policies.
There are shadows and challenges to Mars, Uranus and the North Node colliding together, but I want to focus primarily on the positive potentials on the personal level in this post.
Taurus is stubborn AF. Unshakable. Unmovable. Unchangeable.
Until insurmountable pressure forces its hand.
In the area of life defined by the house with Taurus on its cusp in our birth chart, we are immensely strong and resilient. Yet in this area of life we can also get dangerously stuck in ways that inhibit our growth and potential.
Taurus is the most fixed of the fixed signs. Taurus carves out a rut so deep in the mud that it can feel near impossible to turn our wheels in another direction.
So therefore… this upcoming triple conjunction is a huge opportunity!
Uranus + Mars + the North Node is a perfect combination for breaking free of stagnancy and extricating yourself from a particularly persistent pattern in your life. This transit will likely not feel comfortable because among all the signs, Taurus is the most resistant to change, but ultimately if you look at it as an opportunity this is an invitation to unlock and untap the exhilarating energy of liberation in the Taurean area of your life.
In contrast, imagine if this triple conjunction was occurring in Aries, Gemini, or Sag for example. It would be absolutely wild I’m sure, but on a personal level, the parts of your life (via the houses in your natal chart) that are influenced by these signs are already prone to constant change. Signs like Aries, Gem, and Sag enjoy change and they are generally comfy moving with it.
Uranus (+Mars/NN) in the sign of Taurus is a weird combo, but it can be an exciting one that releases a storehouse of latent potential precisely because these energies are so discordant!
Taurus’ domain has been experiencing Uranian shake-ups for a while now; ever since Uranus entered Taurus for its 7-year journey on March 6, 2019 (after a short preview from May 15, 2018 - November 6, 2018). Uranus leaves Taurus for Gemini on April 26th, 2026.
Mars’ time in Taurus is much shorter (July 5th - August 20th, 2022), but Mars has the ability to bring an extra dose of activating acceleration to long-term changes underway in our lives and raise the temperature on them x 10.
This is an opportunity to have a personal revolution.
♉How do you relate to Taurus in your chart & how do you express this energy in your life?
I’ve been doing a deep dive into how Taurus shows up in my chart / in my life, and I wanted to offer some prompts and guidance in case you wanted to do the same in preparation of the upcoming triple conjunction.
Do you know which house in your birth chart has Taurus on the cusp, and therefore the domain of your life most influenced by this sign?
If you aren’t sure - and yet you know your rising sign - you can use this keyword chart I made to narrow in on where the energy of Taurus is the most present for you:
*The above chart is based on a whole sign house system since that is the only system that works for these types of keyword formulas! I think all house systems have their place. If you normally use a different house system the Taurus house keywords assigned to each rising sign should still have relevance (or you can make the house adjustments if you have the know-how).
Now you can experiment with these fill-in-the-blank prompts…
If you are a_________ (answer #1) rising, you are strong and resilient in the area of your life that relates to_________ (answer #2). However, this is also an area of life where you may find you get stuck in a rut; potentially repeating detrimental patterns and holding on to that which no longer supports your growth.
If you are a_________ (answer #1) rising, you have immense patience in the area of your life that relates to_________ (answer #2), which enables you continue building in the direction of your values, dreams or goals with great determination and perseverance in this realm (regardless how slow the progress might be). However, it also means that you may have trouble responding to new opportunities or changing course when encountering red flags and unaligned paths in this domain of life.
So, for example: If you are an ARIES rising, you are strong and resilient in the area of your life that relates to MONEY & YOUR CAPACITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS INDEPENDENTLY, but this is also an area of life where you may find you get stuck in a rut; potentially repeating detrimental patterns and holding on to that which no longer supports your growth.
Maybe these prompts will make sense for you, or maybe they won’t! Natal charts are complex, but sometimes a basic prompt can bring unexpected clarity.
Keep in mind as you fill in the blanks that Uranus entered Taurus ~2018/2019 and it may be that the prompts feel more applicable to the time prior to this ingress since Uranus has probably shaken many of us out of Taurean ruts since then.
The next fill-in-the-blank exercise has to do with your Venus placement. If you don’t know what sign your Venus is in, skip this part!
Venus is the planet that rules the sign of Taurus and thus her placement (by both sign and house in your natal chart) will deeply influence how you experience Taurus and its house domain throughout your life.
If your Venus is in Aries, you like to be the one who initiates something that is built to last in the area of your life that relates to_________ (answer #2). However, once this effort is well resourced and supported, you will likely be looking to initiate your next long-term life building project. In this way you aim to integrate your desire for risk-taking and exciting new beginnings, with your desire for long-term sustainability in this domain of your life.
If your Venus is in Taurus then Venus is at home in your chart! The area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2) is particularly strong, powerful and determined. You may experience noticeable ease and opportunity getting what you want in this domain of life. When you clarify a desire in this realm, you are near unstoppable.
If your Venus is in Gemini, the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2) may have a measure of flexibility that surprises people. Despite initially appearing determined to persist in a particular direction in this area of life, a rational argument can sway you to redirect. This domain of life may find an outlet through connective, communicative or language-based activities.
If your Venus is in Cancer, you are very oriented toward maintaining safety, protection and nurturing in the area of your of life that relates to _________ (answer #2). You are phenomenally skilled at intuitively tending to that which you want to grow in this domain of life. You know exactly what it needs to grow (usually includes lots of loving care) and you know how to shelter it from external threats while it is in its early phases of growth. You also may be very nostaglic about what you have previously tended to in your Taurean zone.
If your Venus is in Leo, you likely bring a dramatic flair or creative touch to the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2). This may be a domain of life that you enjoy bringing into the public eye - or you dream of doing so as your confidence increases. You are also immensely loyal and committed to the values that feed your vitality and your joy in this realm.
If your Venus is in Virgo, oh my goodness in the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), do you ever know how to work hard and to be of service. Incredibly practical and resourceful, these two earth energies combine to produce efforts of the highest-quality and an attunement to every detail in this domain of your life. You bring devotion and dedication to this realm.
If your Venus is in Libra, in the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2) you may be focused on building a sustaining, durable Taurean project that emphasizes justice, interpersonal harmony, or balanced beauty. The solid, practical, physical nature of Taurus may be channeled in ways that involve poetry, diplomacy or the delineation of perfect shapes and angles.
If your Venus is in Scorpio, the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2) will be an area where you are regularly called to plunge into the shadows and alchemize hidden fears or shame that inhibit the full extent of your transformative power in this realm. Venus in Scorpio ensures that your Taurean domain has a magnetic depth that will beckon you (and others) toward uncovering liberating truths. You have the capacity to be profoundly skilled at navigating the accumulation and movement of money, assets, and power in this area of your life.
If your Venus is in Sagittarius, in the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), you may want something that is solid, secure, and dependable in this domain… that can also transport you into new and exciting realms at a moment’s notice. There must be stable anchors and safety features that facilitate comfort and ease with grand adventures.
If your Venus is in Capricorn, in the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2) you shoulder a great deal of responsibility and you take your duties in this area very seriously. It may take you years, but your eyes are set on a mountain-top goal and in this domain of life, you will reach it. What you build in this realm will likely outlive you; it will be a lasting legacy to your ambition and determination.
If your Venus is in Aquarius, what you build, what you grow, what you accumulate in the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), is not just for you - it’s for the collective, a particular group, or perhaps for the greater good of humanity as a whole. The way you go about developing this domain of your life may be a little odd, a little unusual, but your systematic determination will eventually bring together all the many parts to serve as a greater whole. You bring an innovative lens and brilliant progressive ideas to that which would be otherwise considered simple, basic or fundamental in this realm.
If your Venus is in Pisces, within the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), you imbue the practical, the natural, the physical, with a sense of otherworldliness. You bring magic to the mundane, or you seek to discover the mystical hiding in the overlooked tangibles within this realm. This area grows and develops in nonlinear ways may confuse others, but you trust in the intuitive guidance you receive.
If you are familiar with the house Venus resides in within your birth chart, you can integrate that layer of interpretation as well!
The prompts above pertain solely to the natal chart. When we reflect on past transits and planetary cycles we can dive even deeper into understanding our personal relationship to Taurus in our life.
While keeping the area of life in mind that you identified as “answer #2”, I invite you to reflect on the real life correlations that align with the following four chapters of time.
Remember to focus specifically on themes of the Taurus-ruled house in your chart (i.e. answer #2), because there are always so many transits occurring simultaneously which can be distracting. The focus of this exercise is to zero-in on the Taurus domain that was being strongly activated during the following periods in the past ~22 years…
1) Saturn + Jupiter in Taurus & their last Great Conjunction in an earth sign on May 28th, 2000
In the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), in what ways did you notice structured expansion from 1999 - Spring of 2001; especially around May 28th, 2000? How were you resourcing your dreams and goals in this area of life with practical supports and investments for the long-term?
Saturn entered Taurus on February 28th, 1999. Jupiter joined Saturn in Taurus four months later on June 28th, 1999 until October 23rd, 1999, and then again from February 14th, 2000 - June 30th, 2000.
During the time that the two planets were co-present in the same sign, Saturn and Jupiter came together in Taurus on May 28, 2000 at 22 degrees for the once-every-20-years’ Great Conjunction. This Great Conjunction was significant because it completed 200 years of Great Conjunctions occurring in Earth signs. The Great Conjunctions, which mark important societal shifts, have moved on to Air signs and won’t return to Earth for ~600 years.
This conjunction marked the beginning of a final 20 year chapter within Taurus’ domain in your birth chart.
Saturn first exited Taurus on August 9th, 2000, with a final goodbye transit in Taurus from October 15th, 2000 - April 21st, 2001.
So there was a lot of in and out happening, but generally speaking, Taurus was being activated by these two important planets from early 1999 to the Spring of 2001 with May/June 2000 being a peak time where something important was seeded in your life.
Personal reflections:
I would have been age 13/14 in 1999/2000 and Taurus is on my 10th house cusp of career and public roles. In 1999/2000 I was obsessed with entrepreneurship as Saturn and Jupiter transited my 10th house. I still have the documents carefully outlining the potential business ideas I considered developing.
I read youth-oriented books on entrepreneurship and I even attended an entrepreneurship summer camp for teens where I attempted to sell chocolate-covered strawberries in paper origami boxes (so very Taurean) on the swelteringly hot waterfront.
I was attempting to bring Saturnian structure to my dreams and I was seeking out resources that could teach me how to run a business.
In 1999 I carefully planned out a large vegetable garden which I tended over the summer (Taurus is a sign of gardens, plants and food). I invested in considerable research and preparation, and I worked hard to get the timing and appropriate placement of plants just right.
I recently found evidence that I had made an attempt to start a business growing and selling plant transplants with my newly acquired knowledge in 2000, at age 14. I don’t remember that plan ever getting off the ground, but I had made some pretty nifty flyers with our ancient computer that survived!
This was an interesting time to reflect on because throughout the past month, as we approach this powerful triple conjunction in Taurus, I have been researching wholesale pint containers in which we can sell our home-grown raspberries! I have also had conversations about potentially preparing to sell plant transplants next year.
Becoming aware of these full circle type moments can really deepen your understanding of how you relate to Taurus in your chart and in your life.
2) North Node Eclipses in Taurus, November 2002 - October 2004
In the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), in what ways did you notice yourself stretching out of comfort zones toward personal growth in ways that may have involved a culmination or completion in order to move forward? In this domain of life, from November 2002 - October 2004, in what ways were you stepping into unknown territory with the aim to progress, gain or build something new?
The North Node returns to the same sign about every 18 years. The North Node is currently in Taurus, and it was last in Taurus from April 13, 2003 - December 26, 2004. The transiting North Node (and opposing South Node) catalyze eclipses that occur in the same area of the sky or chart in chapters of time that are about 1.5 - 2 years long.
The fascinating thing about this North Node transit in Taurus was that its presence in the sign only created lunar eclipses - there were no solar eclipses in Taurus during this transit! The three lunar eclipses in Taurus occurred on November 20, 2002, November 8, 2003, and October 28, 2004.
Since there were only lunar eclipses (i.e. full moons) and no solar eclipses (i.e. new moons) there was likely a greater focus on culminations, completions and endings in your Taurus ruled house - that paved the way for new beginnings.
The North Node reminds me of Jupiter. This point and planet both like to expand and to reach for the next horizon. Both have natures that could be described as “hungry”; they want more. In Vedic astrology the North Node is symbolized by a severed, insatiable dragon head/mouth.
Both the NN and Jupiter can “go too far” and be “too much.” There can be too many yesses and not enough nos. Despite this liability these two offer an important invitation to lean in to the area of life they are transiting.
The North Node, with its corresponding eclipses, will pull your focus to this area of life by delivering synchronistic opportunities and fanning the flames of your desires.
“Feed me”, the North Node says, “feed this Taurus area of your chart with your attention, your energy, and your resources.”
Personal reflections:
I was 16 at the time of the first lunar eclipse in Taurus, and age 18 by the last one.
This eclipse series in Taurus (the sign which rules my 10th house of career) encompassed a period of time where I was trying to decide where to go to University and wrestling with big questions about what I wanted to do with my life.
I perceive the lunar eclipse theme of culmination and completion expressing through my efforts to finish highschool, study for the SATs and put together a comprehensive portfolio in order to prove that I was capable of transitioning to university after my unconventional education.
Although I ended up choosing a different path, my first choice was to pursue architecture or a textile program at the arts university nearby. Taurus appreciates art, fabrics, and that which is tangible and functional.
There were a number of activities I embarked on from ~2003-2004 that stretched me out of my comfort zone toward North Node growth.
Taurus rules money and has an affinity for traditional crafts. I remember being very proud that I was able to earn money by taking orders for home-sewn Christmas stockings. Later I was able to secure a summer job with the federal government that was horrible and mind-numbing, but it paid for my first year of university and then some. This was my first full-time job and I was very proud to be able to cover all my educational expenses on my own that year (Taurus loves being self-sufficient).
3) Jupiter in Taurus [this time without Saturn], June 2011 - June 2012
In the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), in what ways did you notice expansion, abundance and opportunity from June 2011 to June 2012 (without the same structure or constraint that may have been present in ~2000)?
Jupiter takes 12 years to orbit the Sun and complete a full cycle through the zodiac signs. Jupiter was in Taurus together with Saturn from about June 1999 ~June 30th, 2000.
Jupiter returned to Taurus on June 4th, 2011, and exited on June 11th, 2012. This was the last time Jupiter was in Taurus. Jupiter will return to Taurus in May 2023.
A key difference between this transit and Jupiter’s transit through Taurus in 1999/2000 is that this time Jupiter was in Taurus alone without Saturn. This means that you may notice similarities between the two transits in the Taurean domain of your life, but there may have been less challenges, barriers, constraints or structure this time around (for better or worse). You may have had greater access to abundance, opportunity and expansion from June 2011 to June 2012, then you did 12 years prior.
Personal reflections:
When I think back to this time period the first thing that jumps out is really tragic and traumatic situation I experienced over a prolonged period. And yet… when I look closer at this time period with my eyes focused specifically on my Taurean domain of life (which in my case is the 10th house of career, public and social roles, and long-term goals), I quickly remember the successes and opportunities I experienced that occurred simultaneously with the challenges I experienced in another area of my life.
This is why it is important to zero in on the Taurus house in your birth chart when doing these types of reflections in an effort to deepen your understanding of how you relate to Taurus. Our lives always have multiple story-lines unfolding and coexisting, as described by transits to our birth charts.
Jupiter in Taurus from June 4th, 2011 to June 11th, 2012, was marked by a substantial influx of income from multiple part-time jobs. It was the most money I had earned during my 10 years as a student.
With extra cash in my bank account, two days after Jupiter entered Taurus and landed on my North Node (which is actually in my 9th house of long-distance travel when using a quadrant house system), I took off on a spontaneous two-week solo trip to Iceland where I toured the perimeter of the island. This was my first big solo travel experience to a country I was unfamiliar with (Jupiter rules over horizon-expanding adventures). It was an important trip that contributed to my personal growth.
In 2011 I decided to change my professional trajectory and shift from social anthropology to something more practical and hands-on in the health professions. At the time it felt exciting and like the beginning of a brand new expansive chapter. Jupiter’s journey through Taurus expressed in my life as filling out numerous applications, checking out universities, and going through admissions interviews.
Jupiter was still in Taurus when I received acceptance notifications from all the universities I applied to, and generous scholarship offers. My final decision was made during this transit.
There was so much pain in other areas of my life, but it is very clear to me that Jupiter still delivered abundance, opportunity, and exciting new adventures in my Taurean life domains.
4) Uranus in Taurus, May 2018 - April 2026
In the area of your life that relates to _________ (answer #2), in what ways did you notice sudden change and continual instability as well as greater freedom, experimentation, and independence in this life domain, beginning around May 15, 2018 with even greater potency after March 6, 2019, up to the present day?
The chart above illustrates the upcoming triple conjunction of the North Node + Mars + Uranus in Taurus that will occur on July 31st/August 1st, 2022 (the transit that inspired this post).
But as I mentioned earlier, Mars and the North Node will re-activate and intensify a long-term story of change that has actually been underway since Uranus entered Taurus first on May 15, 2018, and then more permanently on March 6, 2019.
Pro-tip: Since Venus is the ruler or guardian of Taurus, if you know what house your Venus is in in your birth chart, you may have noticed the catalyst, impetus or support for Uranian change within your Taurean domain, calling out from the direction of the house Venus resides in.
Are there clues that stand out to you around the time of this ingress?
We are at roughly the half-way point in Uranus’ transit through Taurus. My word of advice is - don’t expect stability in this area of life until Uranus leaves Taurus.
You have likely experienced big changes from 2018-2022 in your Taurus house and you may be thinking…
“Okay, a big change happened. Now there is this new thing that I’m adjusting to and clearly this must be the new normal, the replacement in my life that I can now build upon.”
I would caution against getting too comfy with the new normal just yet! The Taurus zone in your life promises to be unpredictably ever-changing as long as Uranus is present in this sign - which it will be until April 2026. I would recommend actively cultivating flexibility in this realm until then!
There are more adventures to be had; the upcoming transit with Mars and the North Node colliding with Uranus will likely remind us of this.
Personal reflections:
When Uranus entered Taurus in 2018 I attended a weekend workshop on how to modulate the nervous system state by engaging the physical senses. This was a growing area of interest that I fully plunged into that year.
Taurus has a close affinity with the physical body and its sensory systems.
When Uranus entered Taurus again in 2019 I found out there would be a 3-year training course for Somatic Experiencing launching at a convenient location. I attended the first training weekend just days after releasing my professional license and consequently bidding farewell to the career path I had worked so hard to get to. My experience with SE has been life-changing.
In 2020 I discovered herbalism through astrology and fell in love with this very Taurean practice. Soon after herbalism came into my life, I began exploring paganism, animism, and developing rituals to honour the seasonal wheel of the year. This summer I have been preparing the foundations for selling produce and creations from our garden.
These new endeavors all have a Taurean theme running through them.
I overlay the Koch house system on top of a whole sign system, and thus from this vantage point, the first half of my Uranus in Taurus transit has had a big focus on 9th house learnings that are often spiritual in nature and involve worldview shifts.
Sometimes I’m weary of Uranus’ whirlwind and my uncertainty about where I am headed (where my 10th house is headed) with all of my diverse interests. However, I’m also grateful for the unexpected plot twists that have taken me down so many interesting and exciting paths!
🤔So, what about this upcoming triple conjunction again?
Hopefully the natal chart and transit prompts above provided clarity and grounding that can support you as we head toward the Mars+Uranus+North Node conjunction.
It’s often easier to navigate Uranus’ plot twists when we can delineate the general area of life in which they may occur within.
On the same day that this triple conjunction initiates on July 31st, the Sun in Leo will make a fire trine to Jupiter in Aries while Mercury in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius.
Sun/Jupiter brings a big, celebratory boldness to the occasion, while Mercury/Saturn adds some seriousness, some clarity, and perhaps some challenging boundary work.
This triple conjunction takes place over July 31st - August 1st (Sunday/Monday), but its ripples will extend in both directions for at least a solid week before and after.
Taurus doesn’t like change and prefers to move slowly and methodically, whereas Mars + Uranus are like, let’s MOVE IT, NOW! LETSGOLETSGOLETSGO - in many erratic directions all at once.
As a result, there can be impatience, urgency, frustration, inflammation, volatility and anger.
And, there can also be radical break-throughs, innovative successes, exhilarating freedom, and exciting changes (thanks to the extra dose of courage to do the weird risky thing you know you want to).
Overall, Mars, Uranus and the North Node seek greater freedom, independence and growth.
How has July been stoking your North Node appetite for something related to that Taurean house in your chart (answer #2)?
Whatever you’re hungry for, this upcoming transit will urge you to feed this area of your life what it wants.
Remember to keep an eye on the South Node in Scorpio at the same time; what needs to be processed and released so you can grow in the Taurean domain?
Blue Vervain as a remedy for this triple conjunction’s head, neck & jaw tension
Has anyone else been dealing with head, neck, and jaw tension lately?
Taurus rules the neck and jaw areas, and as Mars prepares to conjoin with Uranus in this sign, it’s understandable there may be a lot of tension and inflammation in these areas of the body.
Personally I’ve had intense head, neck and jaw stress-tension lately.
The beautiful Blue Vervain I planted last year was blooming and ready for harvest. Aware that this Venus-ruled plant has a special affinity for treating head and upper body muscle tension, yesterday I decided to prepare a Blue Vervain tea.
After letting it sit in a mason jar for a few hours, I took a sip.
I’m the person who eats raw onions with olives as a regular snack, and I have a very high tolerance for bitter medicinal teas, but this was next level. Oh my god. The plant is beautiful but the taste is wretched. I don’t know if I have ever tasted something that bitter!
Fyi, I will say that after I got some of it down without gagging I did experience notable relief! But if you are interested, in my opinion this is definitely an herb to have in tincture form rather than tea!
As a tea I did find it slightly more tolerable after chilling it, adding copious amounts of honey, and drinking dark coffee afterward to get rid of the aftertaste… but wow, I am impressed. This delicate Venusian plant does not mess around.
Whatever your choice medicine is, I hope you have lots of resources to support you through the upcoming twists and turns! May you taste a new freedom this week!
This was such an interesting read! Last time you read my chart we went back and forth trying to figure out if my IC is Aries or Taurus ruled (it being at 29’59” Aries), and after reading this I have no doubt that Taurus rules over my 4th house. It blew my mind to see the correlations between the events happening in my life during every date that you provided here. The Mars/NN/Uranus conjunction is in an exact trine to my Sun in Virgo, I look forward to see what it brings into my life!. Thank you for another great astrology lesson ♥️
